The Australian Racing Board has recently accused the Tasmanian Gaming Commission of lack of integrity regarding the Betfair issue. The Board doubts of its skills, legal capacity, and ability to guarantee equal treatment to racing companies neither recognize cheats. The Chief Executive of the Board said that stewards have been in charge of racings integrity for 170 years and have done it successfully. He further stated that the Tasmania Gaming Commission should regulate gambling operators and not the individuals who might be using the gambling service. He finally said that the integrity of racing should be in hands of racing.

Premier Paul Lennon recently said that Betfair was granted a license to operate an online betting exchange in Tasmania after meeting the Boards requirements. The Australian Racing Board does not confirm this version of the facts.
