Local organizations filed a lawsuit against an attempt to build a casino in Buffalo.

Lawsuit against New Casino

A number of civic and religious organizations united in protesting against building a casino in Buffalo. They claimed that building a casino would have a harmful affect on the city. The organizations, supported by the Wendt Foundation filed a lawsuit to the Federal Court last Tuesday.

According to the Attorney Joseph Finnerty, the federal law that allows US officials to permit casino building is being misused by tribal casinos.

New York State Assemblyman Sam Hoyt claims that the affect of the gambling industry upon the economics is negative, and it eventually causing the development of the economics to slow down.
