Learn the Rules of Playing Texas Hold'em

If you are already familiar with Texas Hold'em, either click to learn more tips or get acquainted with texas holdem strategy.

Texas hold'em is not complicated but you should learn how to play and be well versed before betting money at it. You usually have to bet an initial amount (also termed "posting the blinds"). This increases your excitement. Like most poker games, this is played with 52 cards.

You get two cards, which are placed facing down. After all the players bet and either raise, fold or call. Usually the dealer will then throw away the next card to be dealt to prevent anyone from cheating. Three cards are then opened on the table and placed for all to see. These cards can be used by all of the players to form hold em hands. You and the rest of your hold em players are then given three cards facing up.

Another round of betting takes place and when finished, the dealer again throws away the top card. The next card is exposed on the table and you can now form a hand with the six cards available to you: the four common cards and your two face down cards. Again a round of betting begins and when it concludes another card is placed on the table. This card (termed river card) is placed facing up and you can use it along with all the other cards to form your best Texas hold em sequence.

Now begins the final round of betting and also the most important one. Bet wisely and you stand an even chance to win no matter what your cards are. Generally unless some gambler has a really strong sequence, the bolder better wins the entire pot. Eventually after all gambling ceases, each and every player starts to reveal his hand. The player with the best hand (who is still in the game) wins.

If you are new to Texas holdem, I suggest you play a few rounds for free before you begin to play for money. When you do feel ready enough, charge: Best of Luck.
