What is Crazy Pineapple?
Crazy Pineapple is outstanding variation of Texas Holdem. However, there are a few small differences. First, what makes it Pineapple poker is that players receive three hole cards instead of two. Second difference between Texas Holdem and Crazy Pineapple is that in Crazy Pineapple, the players must discard a hole card at some point in time, in this case after the flop.
Basic Rules
Once the players receive the cards, a betting round begins. When the initial round of betting completes itself, three community cards occupy the spot in the middle of the table (the flop). Next round of betting occurs. After this circle, each player must discard one of his or her hole cards. From here, the game turns into a standard Texas Holdem. Another community card (the turn) is revealed, followed by a round of betting. The third betting round will involve the dealer to turn over the final community card (the river).
Finally, a concluding community card is dealt and a final round of betting takes place. Any players still left in the hand turn over their cards and attempt to make their best possible five-card poker hand using any combination of their down cards and the five community cards in the middle of the table. The player who assembles the best five-card hand wins the pot. If during the event two or more players assemble the same valued hand, the winners split the pot equally.
Betting Arrangements
As I have described above, Crazy Pineapple poker assumes four circles of rates. Each bet and raise during the first two rounds is set at the lower limit of the stakes structure. Remember, all players must discard one pocket card after the second betting round. Betting and raising during the last two rounds is set at the higher limit of the stakes structure. The maximum number of bets allowed per player during any particular betting round is four. This would consist of (1) a bet, (2) a raise, (3) a re-raise, and (4) a cap. The term cap is used to describe the third raise in a round since betting is then capped and cannot be raised anymore. Once the pot is capped, players will have only the option of calling or folding.
Conclusions
Crazy Pineapple is a great game for players who love big action and strong hands. Since you see more cards to start, you will be able to play more hands overall. You will discover that this game evolves much stronger hands than those made in Texas Holdem or Omaha. Remember, your hands are much stronger, but so are the hands of your opponents. Keep this in mind and be sure not to over bet your hands. Overall, Crazy Pineapple is a lot of fun. It is a great twist on a traditional poker game.
