Popular Community Poker Versions This page describes Pyramid, Iron Cross and H-Bomb community poker versions, which are the most popular community poker games.
Pyramid Poker Each player is dealt four face-down cards. Six community cards are laid face-down in the shape of a triangle in the center of the desk. The bottom row of the triangle consists of three cards, the middle row of two cards and the peak of one card.
Community cards are then flipped one by one and a betting round follows each flip. After six flips and six betting rounds, players select three community cards to use with their hand. One of these three cards must be the peak, the other one must be one of two cards that form the middle row and the third one must come from the bottom row, where there are three cards to choose from. Players than select two cards, either from their hand or from community card, they will not use and play the best five card hand. Iron Cross Poker Four cards are dealt to each player, after which the dealer deals five community cards in the shape of a cross formed by two three-card rows that intersect in the middle, so the center card forms part of both rows at the same time. This center card can be wild, if the table rules say so or by the dealer's decision. The center card is usually flipped last, especially if it is wild or has any other special functions. All other community cards are flipped one by one with a betting round following each flip. When all five community cards are flipped and five betting rounds take place, Players use one of the rows of the community cards together with their hole cards, and form the best five card hand out of seven available cards. H-Bomb Poker Each player receives four cards. The community cards are dealt face-down in the shape of letter H, with two parallel lines that consist of three card each and the seventh card in the middle. The dealer then flips one of the community cards and a betting round follows. The six remaining cards are then flipped up one at a time with a betting round after each flip. There are no rules about which card is going do be flipped next, it is up to the dealer only. According to good etiquette, the middle card must be flipped last, but once again, the dealer is the one to decide on this.
When all seven community cards are flipped over and seven betting rounds occur, players combine the best five card hand out of their hole cards and one of the five rows of the community cards. Five rows at H form layout are two vertical rows, one horizontal row and two diagonal rows. A player can not use any community cards that do not belong to the row he selects.
